Antarctica
Did you know that Antarctica is the only mass of land on earth that is not claimed by any country? I think that is very cool! It's like a 3rd party right-in, an independant voter, or an obscure band. Can you imagine the kind of insanity that would ensue if something of value was found to be abundant? Countries would be claiming land left and right! Because as long as there are just scientists there we can share....right? I think countries have gotten so greedy, which is sad. Hopefully Antarctica can survive...

Oh dear, if something of use were found in Antarctica, there would be a race to claim it. I mean, countries are even trying to stake claims on random parts of the Arctic! And just when we thought colonization was something of the past, that all the boundaries are settled, they're not.
